Details from TheBlaze.com:
A Marine involved in the FBI investigation into Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s (D-Fla.) arrested IT staffer Imran Awan stepped out of the shadows of anonymity to go public about his knowledge on the issue.
Andre Taggart, a black U.S. Marine who said he votes Democrat, told the Daily Caller on Wednesday that he was angered by Wasserman Schultz’s claims that the investigation into Awan by U.S. authorities is a result of bigotry.

Taggart is a key witness in the FBI investigation into the Awans. According to the Daily Caller, Taggart rented Awan’s Northern Virginia home. The Marine revealed he discovered the smashed hard drives Awan had left behind when he attempted to flee the U.S. for Pakistan.Awan reportedly threatened to sue Taggart to get the hard drives back, but Taggert chose to alert the FBI instead of giving them up.
Taggart told the Daily Caller “it was amazing” that Wasserman Schultz suggested Awan was a victim of religious discrimination.
“It pisses me off,” Taggart said.
The Marine said he believed Wasserman Schultz is “crying wolf” and devaluing actual discrimination, while exposing herself and the nation to risks.
“I just want to get these [guys] locked up and exposed and now,” Taggart told the Daily Caller. “The people who facilitated them should also be locked up, as far as I’m concerned.”
Capitol Police first named Awan a central figure in a probe into House Democrat security breaches on Feb. 2. A federal grand jury indicted Awan and his wife Alvi on Aug. 17 for bank fraud, false statements, and unlawful monetary transactions. Alvi fled to Pakistan in March, and is reportedly under protection by the Pakistani government. Awan was apprehended by authorities at Dulles International Airport while attempting to flee for Pakistan himself on July 24.
Taggart told the Daily Caller that he believes it’s unfair that the media is focusing firmly on Trump and his alleged Russian connections, but isn’t mentioning Wasserman Schultz and Awan at all.
“Him, his wife, his brother, all working down there — there’s no way they could do this without help. If we can drag Trump and his wingnuts through the mud for the Russia influence that they are having, then it’s only fair that we also expose this s**t,” Taggart said.
Wasserman Schultz’s worst nightmare
According to various sources, Wasserman Schultz is not taking the probe into her former IT staffer well. Inside sources reported that the congresswoman became “jumpy” after Awan’s arrest and was literally running away from reporters when she spotted them coming toward her. It’s currently unclear what kind of relationship Wasserman Schultz had with the Awans, but various sources from both inside and outside of House Democrat offices reported that the congresswoman was highly protective of Awan. Some feared that the former IT staffers possessed information capable of blackmailing Wasserman Schultz.
According to authorities, and fellow members of congress, Wasserman Schultz has also been unhelpful, and at times a hinderance to the investigation into the Awans. Senior congressional officials called her lack of cooperation “unsettling,” and suggested the results of the investigation could very well lead to her resignation.
