Thank you Ted, for finally saying something productive about our President.
While many in the Crooked Media have scoffed at Trump’s wiretapping claim, Ted Cruz said in a recent interview that the claim is not outlandish at all and should be investigated seriously. He’s right!
Meanwhile, Trump has doubled and tripled down on the claim, refusing to back off at all.
Last week he told Tucker Carlson in no uncertain terms that evidence would be coming soon.
Then in a press conference with Germany’s Angela Merkel, he perfectly skewered both Obama and Merkel.
Then yesterday, news broke that Trump had indeed been wiretapped from 2004-2010. As a private citizen! We predict this is only the very tip of the iceberg, and evidence will soon be disclosed confirming Trump’s claim of wiretapping during the election.
Here are more details on the Cruz statements, from The Hill:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Sunday that President Trump’s wiretapping claims should be looked at seriously.
“I don’t know what basis the president has for these allegations. They are serious allegations,” Cruz said on CBS’s “Face The Nation.”
“We should examine what the evidence is. I think it would be quite good for the administration to put forward what evidence there is … This is not necessarily as outlandish as everyone in the press suggests.”
Cruz said the Obama administration has targeted its political enemies.
“We do know that the IRS, for example, targeted citizens groups who spoke out in defense of the Constitution, who spoke out against Obama,” he said.
“And so the notion is not necessarily outlandish, but it’s serious, so it needs to be based on facts.”
The president earlier this month claimed former President Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower before the election.
