Fox’s Chris Wallace has made a startling, game-changing statement in which he claims there is now more evidence of the DNC colluding with Russia than of the Trump team doing so.
“This is far more evidence than we’ve ever seen involving President Trump and his campaign that the Democrats were directly involved in trying to get information from the Russians to affect the 2016 campaign,” Wallace says in a now-viral clip.
More from The Hill:
Wallace’s commentary comes as Republicans have seized on the revelation that Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee funded a controversial dossier on Donald Trump to point the finger back at Democrats regarding Russia’s meddling in the election.
The dossier, which offered evidence of links between Trump’s campaign and Russia, was put together by former British spy Christopher Steele.
“The fact that Hillary Clinton, or at least her campaign and the DNC, was doing business with a foreign national, a British spy, to get information from the Russians for this dossier certainly blunts the idea,
‘Well, it was the Trump campaign and it was outrageous the Trump campaign was having anything to do with the Russians to maybe affect at the election,’” Wallace told “America’s Newsroom” anchor Sandra Smith. “This is far more evidence than we’ve ever seen involving President Trump and his campaign that the Democrats were directly involved in trying to get information from the Russians to affect the 2016 campaign,” Wallace said.
“Having said that, we still don’t know about Robert Mueller [and his] investigation. Both things could be true that both sides were trying to get aid from the Russians and it certainly seems true that Russians were playing both sides to try to disrupt the election,” Wallace continued.
“We still have to wait and see, but there is more evidence at this point of Democratic collusion with the Russians than there is of Republican collusion with the Russians.”
Clinton, DNC Chairman Tom Perez and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), who was head of the DNC during the presidential race, all deny knowing of the dossier’s existence until after it was released.
President Trump slammed what he characterized as the “fake dossier” and characterized it as the foundation of “the whole Russia hoax” in speaking with reporters on the South Lawn of the White House on Wednesday.
So, the newly-liberal Fox News is admitting it. Will ABC, CBS or – gag – CNN be next?
