I have said it before and I’ll say it again now: Donald Trump is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
Or maybe more accurately he’s playing that weird 4D chess set from Star Trek:
In any event, Trump is always five steps ahead of the rest of the jokers in politics. And they usually don’t even know it until he steamrolls right over them and is 5 miles down the road.
It’s what I like to call the “Columbo Effect”. Deploying a strategy from The Art of the Deal, Trump lulls you into a false sense of security by making you think he’s a foolish hothead. In reality, he’s very smart, he’s done his homework and he’s just setting his trap.

And he’s done it again here, we just happen to be in the early phases so a lot of people can’t see it.
We’re in the stage right now where Trump looks like he foolishly Tweeted out a message about Obama wiretapping his phones during the election. So many people have rushed to criticize it, but I believe we’re very close to our Columbo saying “Oh, just one more thing ma’am….”
