Nancy Pelosi Spits On Founding Fathers With The Most Ignorant And Dumb Statement Of Her Career!
Nancy Pelosi has made some bad moves in 2017, such as her shrieking about Republicans being “killers” and encouraging a Cold War against Russia.
But none can compare to her statement about the GOP tax cut bill on Tuesday, in which she said that the Republicans are doing “violence” to the “vision of our Founding Fathers.”
Pelosi’s remarks come as a bill is being passed through Congress to lower tax rates….such as going from approximately 39% to 37% for the highest earners.
It is hard to describe just how stupid the quote is, since our Founding Fathers couldn’t have dreamed of a system where taxing anyone nearly 40% is a good idea.
Pelosi’s remarks are extremely ironic, since if Jefferson and Franklin saw the current assortment of local, state and Federal taxes being paid by the average American, they would likely call for a violent overthrow of an unconstitutional, illegal government!
More from Washington Free Beacon:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) called the Republican tax reform bill “brazen theft” on the floor of the House of Representatives shortly before the bill passed, adding it “does violence” to the vision of the Founding Fathers.
“This GOP tax scam is simply theft–monumental, brazen theft–from the American middle-class and from every person who aspires to reach it,” Pelosi said on Tuesday. “The GOP tax scam is not a vote for an investment in growth or jobs, it is a vote to install a permanent plutocracy in our nation. They’ll be cheering that later.”
Pelosi went on to say the tax bill “does violence” to the vision of America’s Founding Fathers and “disrespects the sacrifice” of the service of men and women in uniform.
The Founding Fathers protested unfair taxation from the British empire and wound up leading a revolution.
“It betrays the future and betrays the aspirations of our children. It demands–it morally demands a ‘no’ vote from every member of this House of the people,” Pelosi concluded.
Is she even serious?
Like Dennis Miller said once, “The Founding Fathers were a group of men who went to war because somebody taxed their favorite breakfast drink.”
