Rejoice! Republicans in the House and Senate have managed to pass the Trump tax plan, celebrating in a White House ceremony on Wednesday.
However, there are questions as to whether the President will be able to sign America’s “big, beautiful Christmas present” by December 25th.

Though many businesses are already reacting by giving employees extra holiday bonuses, Congress must “enroll” the bill which could take up to 2 weeks.

White House legislative director Marc Short said Wednesday that President Trump could possibly sign Republicans’ sweeping tax code overhaul while he’s vacationing at his Mar-a-Lago estate for the holidays.
Asked by MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson in an interview if Trump would sign the bill at his club in West Palm Beach, Fla., Short said it was within the realm of possibility, but would ultimately depend on when the president actually receives the legislation from Congress.
“Typically a bill this size takes several days for Congress to enroll and send to us, so we don’t know when we’re going to receive it,” he said. “So that’s going to be a factor in exactly the date that he does it.”
“So it’s a possibility that it’ll happen in that week between Christmas and New Year’s?” Jackson asked, referring to the time period when Trump is expected to be at Mar-a-Lago.
“It’s a possibility, Hallie,” Short replied. “It’ll be signed either way.”
Senate Republicans cleared their rewrite of the nation’s tax code early Wednesday morning, and House Republicans gave final approval to the measure hours later, putting the GOP on track to fulfil their pledge to have tax reform signed into law by the end of the year.
The bill offers deep, permanent tax cuts for businesses, and smaller, temporary cuts for individual tax rates. It also does away with or limits a number of tax breaks.
Republicans and the White House argue that the proposal will spur economic growth and make the U.S. more attractive to companies. Democrats, however, say the bill gives the deepest cuts to the wealthiest Americans, and will fail to prompt the growth the GOP claims it will, while growing the deficit.
Trump is holding an event on Wednesday afternoon marking the bill’s passage, though that event is not a signing ceremony.
