Apple’s Largest Supplier Looks to Relocate From Taiwan to Wisconsin!

Foxconn, the assembler of Apple’s iPhones, is looking to relocate to the United States.

Thank you President Trump!  Unlike Obama who said “these jobs are never coming back,” President Trump refused to accept that reality and has been fighting to make America the world leader again!

Now comes word that Foxconn is in serious negotiations to open a plant in the United States, with Wisconsin currently leading the pack and Michigan also a contender.  Absolutely incredible!  Even more incredible, the plant could employ 50,000 people, a staggering number!

From Channel3000/Associated Press:

A Taiwanese company that assembles Apple’s iPhones and other electronics is considering building a plant in Wisconsin that could employ thousands of people.

A person with direct knowledge of the negotiations who was not authorized to speak publicly confirmed to The Associated Press on Wednesday that the state is in talks with Foxconn. At least one other state, Michigan, is also pursuing the plant.

President Donald Trump alluded to negotiations with an unspecified company during a visit to Milwaukee on Tuesday, saying Gov. Scott Walker might get “a very happy surprise very soon.”

Lawmakers said they’re hoping to learn more about efforts to bring the tech company to the state.

Foxconn has said the plant could employ 50,000 people.

Other sources call the proposed plant “massive” and so big that they are having trouble finding a suitable space.  From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

The giant Taiwanese company considering investing billions to expand its manufacturing in the U.S., possibly in Wisconsin, wants a 1,000-acre site for the operation.

The immense size of the parcel being sought – more than a mile and a half square – indicates the scope of the potential manufacturing complex.

“That’s a massive, massive amount of acreage to have for any sort of manufacturing,” said James T. Barry III, a longtime commercial real estate professional in Milwaukee.

Barry said he knew of no industrial complex in Wisconsin approaching that scale.

However, Foxconn Technology Group, the firm currently being wooed by both Wisconsin and Michigan, is looking for even more land to build at least one large plant to manufacture high-definition television panels, according to an industry analyst who asked not to be named in this report.

In a request for proposals circulated about a month ago, Foxconn said it wants a separate, 400-acre parcel too, Thomas Shircel, interim village administrator in Pleasant Prairie, said Thursday. The Kenosha County community received the request for proposals, but cannot assemble that much acreage, he said.

“We just don’t have that land mass here,” Shircel said.

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Foxconn is considering building a plant in Wisconsin that could employ thousands of people.
