CNN’s smarmy reporter Daniella Diaz was slammed on Twitter on Tuesday, with users accusing her of mocking Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for a childhood polio condition.
Diaz live-blogged from her Twitter account as Trump and McConnell held a press conference in the White House Rose Garden, which included addressing their differences. Both denied any hard feelings.
But in Diaz’s final tweet in the string (in which she apparently tried to use the word “though” to end 10 or 20 straight sentences in a row), she sent out a video of McConnell reaching out to Trump, who grabbed his arm to help him up the stairs and back toward the White House.

Users immediately pointed out that McConnell still suffers from a childhood bout of polio, and that the (literally) touching moment between the 2 men is nothing to be derided.

Diaz has not responded to criticism or deleted the tweet, but CNN did post a somewhat conciliatory follow-up from another reporter’s account:
McConnell often goes up a step at a time, sometimes needs railing for assistance. This time, used Trump for balance https://t.co/f4RVd9sBDM
