This is a doozy!
You probably recognize the name Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s former top White House adviser.
Reports out today say she is moving into a new $5.3 million “nerve center” ran by Obama himself designed to thwart Trump!
So much for a “peaceful and cooperative” transfer of power, huh?
Here are more of the shocking details, from Fox News:
President Barack Obama’s former top White House adviser Valerie Jarrett is moving in with him and will help with an “insurgency” against President Donald Trump, according to a new report.
The Daily Mail reports that the Obama team is setting up shop at the posh $5.3 million mansion in the Kalorama section of D.C., referring to it as a “nerve center.”
According to the report:
Obama’s goal, according to a close family friend, is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment.
Spurred on by Jarrett and Michelle, the ex-president has come to embrace his role as the leader of the opposition against Trump, whose policies he loathes and whose presidency he considers illegitimate.
Obama also maintains an office in D.C. as a post-presidency perk, but it cannot be used for political reasons.
Obama has stayed far from the spotlight since Trump’s inauguration. His only public statement, issued through a spokesman, encouraged “citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard” following Trump’s controversial travel ban last month.
Obama was said to be looking forward to relaxing, golfing and writing his memoirs but has now become increasingly concerned about the policies of the Trump administration.
The 44th president was seen vacationing in the British Virgin Islands, specifically kitesurfing with Virgin Group’s Richard Branson.
The Mail report states that “Valerie convinced him that he didn’t have any choice if he wanted to save his legacy.”
The report comes on the heels of former Attorney General Eric Holder saying that Obama is ready to re-enter the political fray.
