Things are not looking good for the Democratic Mayor of Baltimore, Catherine Pugh, as the FBI raided her home on Thursday, acting on information that she allegedly illegally profited from a book deal.

Evidence has already reportedly been obtained and secured by the FBI and IRS in their raid on Mayor Pugh’s home.

In a sweeping move, an effort to search every possible place tied to the Mayor, authorities also raided Baltimore’s City Hall.

Mayor Pugh looks like she has some serious ‘splaining to do, as the FBI and IRS search warrant reportedly covers several additional locations besides her home and City Hall, including: a second residence owned by the Mayor, a nonprofit entity she’s worked with, her attorney’s office, and even the home of one of her former aides.

“Federal authorities on Thursday executed search warrants at the home and several locations tied to Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh as part of an investigation into whether she improperly profited from a no-bid book deal steered to a Maryland medical system while she served on its board.

While Pugh was a board member of the University of Maryland Medical System, the group spent $500,000 to fund the purchase of some 100,000 children’s books authored by Pugh from her company Healthy Holly LLC, a spokesman for the medical system has confirmed.Pugh apologized in March for having ‘done something to upset the people.’ Baltimore’s city council has called for Pugh to resign.”
The situation surrounding the Mayor and her apparent subsequent flight from the state of Maryland is reported to be affecting her health, as The Hill details in this piece:
“Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh (D) is in poor health and is not ‘lucid’ enough to make a decision on whether to resign amid a scandal over her business dealings, her attorneys said Thursday.He [attorney Steve Silverman] told reporters Thursday that the mayor was saddened by the raids of seven locations linked to her administration, including two houses she owns in the city, the home of a former aide, her city hall office and others according to multiple news reports. Pugh’s office has said the mayor is recovering from a bout of pneumonia.
Silverman said he spoke to Pugh on Thursday and that she is ‘physically still ill, and she is obviously emotionally and extremely distraught.'”
Shady dealings like these often go unnoticed are unreported by the mainstream media, so this is somewhat rare territory for such a large spotlight to be shed on Democratic malfeasance.
As it stands, this is just another example of a crooked Democratic leader being exposed for blatant wrongdoing. Keep piling up the scandals, Democrats, 2020 will arrive sooner than you think.
