NEW YORK – It was announced today that Newt Gingrich has ended his relationship as a commentator with Fox News. This may not seem like big news until you realize that this is the most common step taken when a commentator plans to enter the political arena.
Gingrich has long been considered one of the top 3 candidates in the race for Trump’s Vice President selection. This seems to indicate the decision may have been made and Newt and Fox News are paving the way for the announcement.
It is widely expected that Trump will announce his Vice President pick within the next 1-2 weeks.
From Breitbart:
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and Fox News have ended their contributor agreement, according to a statement released by Fox News.
“Fox News Channel has mutually agreed to suspend its contributor agreement with Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich effective immediately. Due to the intense media speculation about Gingrich’s potential selection as Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate, we felt it best to halt his contributor role on the network to avoid all conflicts of interest that may arise.”
What do you think? Is this the right choice? Is Newt the best option for Trump? Who is your favorite?
