Border Patrol Will Stop Detaining Some Illegals – Because the Crisis is Out of Control

If you’ve heard from a liberal friend that there’s no crisis at the border, ask them to explain this one.

We’re learning that Border Patrol will stop detaining some illegal immigrants, which sounds ridiculous. After all, isn’t that their job? What kind of political obstruction led to this?

Depressingly – none. Border Patrol isn’t going to stop detaining illegals cause of public policy – they’re going to because they’re detaining so many they’re literally running out of room.

According to the Daily Wire:

The United States Customs and Border Protection Agency will begin releasing some illegal immigrant detainees — particularly those who have crossed the border with their families — because they are running out of places to house the thousands of migrants per month who are captured jumping the border, or who present themselves seeking asylum.

The releases are being done “to mitigate risks to both officer safety and vulnerable populations under these circumstances,” a CBP spokesperson told reporters.

“Normally, the Border Patrol would transfer the migrants to Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be ‘processed’ and in many cases placed in detention facilities. But officials said that both agencies have run out of space due to a recent influx of Central American families,” the LA Times added.

The figures are staggering:

The sheer numbers are also incredible. The Department of Homeland Security Chief Kirstjen Nielsen told Congress in early March that she anticipates CBP will process at least 100,000 illegal immigrants — mostly asylum seekers — in the month of March.

At one port of entry, 400 illegal aliens were arrested in a mere five minutes. If that specific port were to have “only” 400 daily crossings, that would still amount to almost 150,000 illegal crossings annually from one entry point.

As we’ve documented in other articles, liberals are selectively choosing their statistics when claiming that there is no crisis at the border. While it is true that illegal crossings his record lows in 2017 (as illegals were likely initially intimidated by Trump’s harsh rhetoric), its also true that illegal crossings in 2018 and early 2019 were among the highest levels recorded.

And what could solve that problem? Just look at illegal border crossings in Hungary before and after they built a border wall. You can take a wild guess at when they finished constructing their wall…..

What a clown world we live in; up is down, left is right, and border patrol can’t patrol.
