One of the things I love about our President is his tremendous heart.
During his speech tonight, he showed just how much he loves the men and women in uniform who fight to keep our freedoms alive.
During his first speech to Congress, Trump drew attention to his special guest Carryn Owens, who was the wife of the late Navy SEAL, Ryan Owens. Ryan was the first American during the Trump administration to give his life for our country in combat.
Our President also took the opportunity to hit back at the media, many of whom claimed that the mission Ryan was on was a failure. He quoted General “Mad Dog” Mattis as saying, “Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemy.”
The standing ovation for Carryn Owens lasted over 2 full minutes. Perhaps the most touching moment was when Carryn, holding back tears, looked up to heaven and mouthed “I love you, baby” to her own American hero.
Keep on winning, Mr. President. We’ve got your back.
