President Trump told us he was going to get us out of horrible deals like NAFTA and TPP, and into good, bilateral deals that are FAIR to the United States.
He’s already performing on that promise.
President Trump just signed a bilateral trade deal with Mexico for sugar and the deal is MUCH more favorable to the U.S. and U.S.-based suppliers. We are Making America Great Again, not Mexico, and it’s about damn time!
The new agreement will reportedly reduce the share of refined sugar that Mexico can send to the U.S. by 30 percent, according to Fox Business. More:
U.S. and Mexican authorities have reached an agreement that would maintain Mexican sugar exports to the U.S. market, Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo said Tuesday, a move that would solve a longstanding dispute between the two trading partners.
Mr. Guajardo said that he and U.S. Commerce Minister Wilbur Ross plan to hold a press conference on the sugar dispute at 1:45 p.m. EDT in Washington.
Mr. Guajardo said the agreement would maintain Mexican sugar access to the U.S. market but lower the ratio of refined to raw sugar exports to 30%-to-70% from the current 40%-to-60% ratio. U.S. sugar refiners say they are being hurt by imports of refined Mexican sugar, while not getting enough raw sugar for their refineries.
The deal is even more significant because it underscores the new way of doing business under the Trump Administration. No longer will we foot the bill for everyone else. We are going to have fair, bilateral deals. We aren’t going to have these multinational deals that no one understands and the U.S. loses out in big time.
Trump is set to renegotiate NAFTA in the months to come, and everyone had been watching his moves with this deal. For those worried that Trump would do exactly what he promised to do in the campaign….he’s doing it, and he’s Making America Great Again!
Thank You President Trump!!
