Jamele Hill of ESPN has called Donald Trump everything from a white supremacist to a Russian agent.
But Hill snapped at a follower on Twitter when needled about today’s news that Trump personally spoke to President Xi of China and secured the release of 3 UCLA basketball players (who happen to be young black men). The players had been arrested for shoplifting while on tour in Asia.
When a user tweeted that Trump’s triumph – and unabashed support of 3 black athletes despite their wrongdoing – would make it a “rough day” for Hill and ESPN, she replied:
Not really. 1) I’m off today 2) reporting facts isn’t stressful https://t.co/lqrQSxKltR

The Daily Caller puts it best:
It’s pretty strange that Trump, who Hill fundamentally believes is a racist, would work so hard to free three young black men from spending years in a Chinese prison if Hill’s accusations against the president hold true. Even if you hate Trump, there’s no way you can look at what Trump did, and not walk away impressed. These players were possibly going to spend the next decade in a Chinese prison.
Thanks to President Trump they won’t even spend a full day behind bars. Very odd behavior from a guy Hill thinks hates black people.
You know, college basketball is usually a nice draw for a TV newscast. But we suspect you’ll be hearing a bit less about NCAA hoops during this particular news cycle.
It will be like UCLA never existed!
