BREAKING: President Trump Persuades China To Let Detained UCLA Athletes Come Home!
The mainstream media is telling you that President Trump returned home “empty-handed” from his Asia trip.
So, bringing home 3 formerly-detained Americans doesn’t count?
Trump has reportedly persuaded President Xi of China to release the 3 American college basketball players from UCLA, who were nabbed by communist authorities for a petty-theft stunt at a Chinese mall.
The student-athletes are on their way home, where they will face discipline and likely suspension from the UCLA Bruins Men’s Basketball Team.
It is obvious that Trump interceded and asked Xi personally to release the students, which is why the media is soft-pedaling the story today.
Quotes from ABC News:
President Donald Trump said he has personally appealed to Chinese President Xi Jinping to help resolve the case of three UCLA men’s basketball players who were arrested for alleged shoplifting in China last week.
“When I heard about it two days ago, I had a great conversation with President Xi,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One shortly after taking off today from Manila, Philippines.
“What they did was unfortunate. You know, you’re talking about very long prison sentences. They do not play games,” he said of the Chinese justice system.
The Chinese might not play games, but Trump has them playing ball.
At least one family – the UCLA family – can breathe easy thanks to the President’s “empty-handed” return.
