Stephen A Smith, a broadcast pundit for ESPN known for his grandstanding and liberal point of view in that order, makes a shocking statement on the air.
Smith answered a question on an ESPN talk show about VP Mike Pence boycotting an NFL game in Indianapolis with a rambling, but surprising message – Trump is winning.
“In the end what it really comes down to is the president has successfully hijacked this issue,” Smith says.
“He’s turned it into an issue about patriotism.”
Smith then floats an intriguing theory – that Trump simply has no love for Roger Goodell or the NFL’s hypocritical politics after an unsavory experience trying to break into professional football as a team owner.
“This man has a history of exacting revenge on those who oppose him,” says Smith.

“(Trump) is the one that’s winning because he’s turned this into something that the players didn’t intend to. So they’re going to have to find a different mechanism to have their voices heard,” Smith continues in the viral clip.
“Trump has won this round.”
