A Sacramento, California man had his robbery attempt go very wrong on Wednesday when he became stuck in the chimney of a local business.
Police say the “Criminal Claus” was trying to sneak through the roof of the building when he slid down the chimney and became stuck for hours.
He was able to move enough to grab his phone and call 911, which led to his rescue…and his arrest.

An alleged “criminal Claus” didn’t quite come down the chimney with a bound when he attempted a Santa-like entry into a Northern California business.
Citrus Heights police received a 911 call Wednesday from a man stating he was stuck in the chimney of the business.
Police say 32-year-old Jesse Berube was trying to sneak into the business when he slid down the chimney and became lodged.
Though he was unable to get out, Berube was able to move freely just enough to call for help.
Officers and members of the Sacramento metropolitan fire department used specialized equipment to extricate Berube from the chimney.
Fortunately, he was not hurt.
Berube was arrested for burglary, even taking his mugshot tarnished in ashes and soot.
Looks like the cops are “sweeping” away crime in Sacramento.
